Common Questions Before Ordering
How do I size the load capacity of an industrial material lift correctly?
Add the heaviest single load plus any fixture or container weight, then apply a safety margin of at least 20% before selecting a rated capacity. If load weight varies significantly between shifts, size the lift to the maximum recorded weight rather than the average.
What is the difference between a floor lift and lifting tongs for the same material?
A floor lift supports the full underside of the load and moves it vertically at a fixed station. Lifting tongs clamp onto the edge of a plate, coil, or cylindrical part and are used together with an overhead crane to move that same material horizontally between stations. Many floor layouts use both: a lift for vertical staging and tongs for the crane move that follows.
How often should the hydraulic system on a material lift be serviced?
Under normal single-shift use, check oil level and seal condition every three months and replace hydraulic fluid on a 12-month cycle. Lifts running multiple shifts or handling loads above 70% of rated capacity should move to a quarterly fluid inspection.
Can platform size and lift height be customized?
Yes. Platform length, width, lift height, and control layout can all be adjusted from the base models shown above. Custom orders still go through the same overload proof-test before shipment as our standard series.
